Web Marketing Association honors leading provider of loyalty shopping solutions with Standard of Excellence Award for the CyberMonday.com online shopping mall

LEXINGTON, Mass. – October 4, 2007 - Mall Networks, the leading provider of online malls and loyalty shopping solutions, today announced that it has received the 2007 Standard of Excellence WebAward in the Shopping Category from the Web Marketing Association. Mall Networks received the award for its work on CyberMonday.com, a merchant-funded online shopping mall it developed for Shop.org, the network for retailers online.

The Web Marketing Association was founded in 1997 to help set a high standard for Internet marketing and development of the best Web’s best sites. Now in its 11th year, the WebAwards are the premier annual Web site award competition that names the best Web sites in 96 industries. “Our loyalty shopping web sites are the best place for millions of consumers to benefit from loyalty rewards, deals, discounts and promotions at the world’s most recognized retailers,” said Ben Kaplan, chief marketing officer at Mall Networks. “This award is a reflection of not only our product leadership in online shopping, but also of the proven value we can deliver for clients such as Shop.org, JPMorgan Chase and Spirit Airlines.”

In 2005, Shop.org coined the phrase, “Cyber Monday,” to describe a phenomenon reported by online retailers: a measurable surge in business on the Monday after Thanksgiving, when consumers headed back to the office after the long weekend. Shop.org and Mall Networks launched the the merchant-funded Cyber Monday online mall on November 20, 2006. It features nearly 400 leading merchants including Barnes & Noble.com, circuitcity.com, eToys.com, HSN, JCPenney.com and Newegg.

The mall offers online shoppers a variety of special offers and promotions, free shipping deals and coupons in one secure, feature-rich mall. All Shop.org proceeds from the online mall go to Shop.org’s Ray M. Greenly Scholarship Fund, which provides college tuition to students pursuing careers in e-commerce.

Response to the Cyber Monday mall was incredibly strong. At its peak on Cyber Monday, the online mall received more than 500,000 page views per hour and in December, 2006, was named one of Alexa’s “Top-10 Movers + Shakers.” The mall itself generated millions of dollars in transactions with some merchants seeing six-figure sales during the holidays. As a result of the mall’s success, Shop.org raised more than $100,000 for the Greenly scholarship fund during only a few weeks of the 2006 holiday season.
