QA Engineer
About the position:
An ideal candidate will be someone that has experience in testing internet applications, highly self-motivated and readily adaptable to a fast-paced environment. The QA Engineer should be naturally curious and passionate about solving business problems through high-quality solutions. They will be an integral part of a team committed to delivering excellent software to meet our customers' needs.
Job Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and improve test plans, test cases and other documentation.
- Prepare time estimates, schedule testing activities and execute manual test cases.
- Identify, isolate and document bugs clearly and concisely in the bug database.
- Work closely with Development Engineers to help identify and resolve software issues.
- Generate/assemble test data and/or create SQL scripts to support testing needs.
- Collaborate with team to develop the QA process and thinking.
- Help define strategy for development of automation test suites.
Requirements:
Required KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES for this QA Engineer position include the following:
3-5 years experience in software testing, working with internet applications (eCommerce/merchandising, eMarketing/personalization or enterprise search a plus).
Must be detail-oriented and motivated with excellent analytical skills.
Exceptional hands-on manual tester focusing on the customer experience.
Proficient relational database skills including ability to write SQL queries.
Hands-on experience with HTML, CSS and Javascript applications.
Experience with LAMP (Linux/Apache/MySQL/PHP) e-commerce applications a plus.
Comfortable working with UNIX - UNIX file system access and UNIX editing tools.
Familiar with writing scripts with Perl, PHP, shell scripts or other scripting languages.
Awareness of automated test tools and how they can help solve QA bottlenecks.
Familiar with using automated test tools such as QTP, SilkTest, or WinRunner a plus.
Desire to work in a fast-paced, team oriented environment.
Ability to be proactive and work independently.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Education: BA/BS in computer science or equivalent work experience.
Technical Certifications are a plus.
